Ferrari 250 GTZ : 1956

In 2006, Zagato celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari 250 GTZ of 1956, one of the most beautiful and coveted GT cars ever built.

Like many of the cars created by Zagato, this one was commissioned by a gentleman driver, and it represents a sublime synthesis of prestige and performance, elegance and sportiness, and is much sought after by collectors of luxury period sports cars.

This Ferrari Zagato, with the prancing horse on the bonnet and the Z on the side, still expresses unwavering Italian excellence in its form and content. A winning combination, able to combine the world’s most powerful, celebrated engineering, with the most refined, appealing sporty styling, both the product of Italian workmanship.

The concept of sporty elegance, a functional design that does not follow the latest fashions but strives to achieve pure performance, and an extremely light aluminium body, are Zagato’s strengths, a value that is recognised everywhere.

The winner of races and of concours d’élégance, the 250 GTZ is a dream car, because experts and fans have judged it to be one of the most beautiful cars in the world.

To celebrate this anniversary in style, Zagato has decided to create a car based on the 575 for a customer who is a collector, a car that evokes the 250 GTZ. The 250 GTZ was the inspiration for the new model, known as the “Zero”.

Like its ancestor, the 575 Zero will be made entirely in aluminium and, as a tribute to Ferrari and to two-seater Italian sports cars, it will become one of the most exclusive models of Zagato tradition.

Like the 250 GTZ, it too will have two-tone paintwork, and stylistic features and lines that hark explicitly back to the 1950s, and will epitomise the personality of the many cars produced by Zagato to “dress” original engineering in the purest style of sporting tradition, with the collaboration of these two prestigious brands.
